Escadaria Selaron & Christ Redeemer: Rio de Janeiro 30.11.15

Santa Teresa (the area where we are staying in Rio) is quite near to the famous stairs of colourful tiles. We decided the day before to meet up with Henry at the steps at 11 am.
The steps, called Escadaria Selaron were made by a chilean artist to mark the way to his art gallery. They are in a bit of a rough area and the artist got killed on those stairs by drug dealers from the area. Every picture on the steps represents something of a country and at the top of the stairs there is a museum.
We were late to the stairs since we were unsure about the area we were going into but when we got there we realised we were "early". Henry wasn't there. We took a few pictures while waiting and saw a model taking pictures in a bikini too, but shortly after she took her clothes off, it started raining. We left at 12:15 with no sign of Henry and made our way to Christ Redeemer.
To go to Christ Redeemer from the stairs, you have to take the road down, which will lead you to Cinelandia metro station. We didn't see a bus to go to the Christ from there so we went on to the station "Largo do Machado" (or something similar) and from there you can get a direct bus to the mountain. The way to go up to Christ Redeemer is taking the Tren do Corcovado (56 reales per person). It takes about 10 minutes to go to the monument.
When we arrived there the weather was... well, biblical. Fog, wind and rain. Our pictures look more like the Christ Redeemer in Scotland than in Brazil. The floor was slippery and we couldn't see anything around us but a white cloud. God, why have you forsaken us?
